P. RAJARATHINAM, former AIADMK MP.

P. Rajarathinam (48), former AIADMK MP, passed away at Tiruppur following heart attack on Thursday. He was elected to the Lok Sabha on AIADMK ticket from the Perambalur (Reserved) constituency in 1998 elections, defeating the DMK nominee A. Raja, who is now the Union Minister.

In the 1999 Parliamentary elections he lost to Mr. Raja in the same constituency. In the 2001 Assembly elections, he was elected as MLA from Perambalur (Reserved) Assembly Constituency. He is survived by wife Easwari and a three-year old son.

Rajarathinam’s body was brought to his residence in Tiruchi.
