Now, one can relish delicious cuisine on the move with HIJACKK, a double-decker restaurant, which was launched recently.

The restaurant has two decks with a seating capacity of 20 each; both having varying features. The lower deck is fully air-conditioned with in-built soft, varying lights and an audio-video system. The open-air upper deck gives a different entertainment of watching live surroundings with a band of three musicians playing live music.

“The idea of introducing HIJACKK was to provide Chennaiites with a unique sort of ride with multi-cuisine food and entertainment at the same time. The upper deck is most suited for young and the lower one by adults. Each deck offers a different experience,” says Hardik Shah, CEO of HIJACKK. It takes two-hour-trips twice between 7 and 11 p.m. on the East Coast Road, travelling 35 km and offers a pleasant, safe and memorable ride to the guests, says Mr. Hardik Shah. The seven-course Indian menu is served by five helpers on board the mobile restaurant. It includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines, mocktails, soup, paneer tikka, Hara bara kabaab and green salad. The vegetarian menu costs Rs. 565 per head and the non-vegetarian menu Rs. 765 per head, inclusive of travel charges, says Mr. Hardik Shah. “The demand for booking is picking up every day. People are booking it for all kinds of small parties such as birthday and get-together. Even people from corporate sector book and arrange their parties in HIJACKK. Recently,it was booked by a soon-to-be-married couple, who wanted to host a party to their friends,” says the CEO. “We are planning to conduct food festivals of every State in the country and cookery shows in the restaurant to attract our guests and make it more interesting for them,” says Mr. Hardik Shah.
