Reminiscing his student days, founder and CEO of Foodking E. Sarath Babu said that people used to call him a “poor child.” “They looked only at my clothes and appearance. They did not know that I was quite rich in education and thinking. So, never stop dreaming just because others do not believe in you,” he said.
Speaking at the inauguration of AC college of Technology's maiden techno-management festival ‘Dhrishyaa' here on Monday, Mr. Babu said: “In my lifetime, I want to see a hunger-free India. That is my dream and vision. Each one of you sitting in this hall today possibly have your own vision, as well as ideas that could one day help crores of people. That is a great responsibility.”
His simple advice to the young students was: “Dare to follow your dream. Start as small as necessary and reach as high as possible.”
Sharing anecdotes from his own life, Mr. Babu, who is a chemical engineer, said that during his campus placement, he chose to work for a software company because chemical sector companies were offering a monthly salary of only Rs.8,000 to freshers. “My request to students would be to stick on to your field and flourish.”
Anna University Vice Chancellor P. Mannar Jawahar spoke. The three-day event ‘Dhrishyaa' would feature an array of technical and management events, engaging workshops and inspiring guest lectures. The Hindu is media partner.
