An Air India flight from Chennai to Kuwait via Goa carrying 133 passengers suffered an inordinate delay due to a technical snag, sources at the airport said. Before the flight’s departure at 6.15 p.m. on Monday, the officials inspected the flight suspecting technical issues and predicted an hour’s delay. But the flight took off four hours later at 10.30 p.m. and accommodated only the Kuwait passengers. The ones flying to Goa were left back at the airport. “Since there was a delay already, stoppage at Goa would further take time. So, the passengers were given accommodation in hotels,” said a source.
Nearly 38 passengers who had to get off at Goa stayed back in Chennai for about 14 hours. Later, on Tuesday, they were sent in a Spice Jet flight that left for Goa at 12.30 p.m., he added.
