Various activities held at regional offices of The Hindu Group on World Book Day

On the occasion of World Book Day, The Hindu Group organised a flash sale of their special publications as well as a number of activities for children and adults on Sunday.

While the sale in Chennai was organised at the office premises on Anna Salai, the flash sale was also held at regional offices across the country, including Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Mumbai and Kozhikode.

A number of titles, including ‘Srivari Brahmotsavam : A celestial spectacle on earth’, ‘India’s 500 tests: The journey began in 1932’ and ‘M.S. Revisited: Tracing the nightingale’s musical journey’ were sold on a flat 50% discount as part of the flash sale.

S.P.R. Ravi, a resident of Tondiarpet, who visited the sale, said that he had picked up a number of titles in Tamil by the publication.

Reading zones and a mobile planetarium had been set up by Spacetrek where children and adults could see a show about how the earth came to be and the evolution of various species.

For children, copies of ‘ The Hindu In School’ special summer edition was available for purchase and many of them were seen flipping through the pages of the special supplement which will be published for 8 weeks, every Sunday through the summer school vacation.

A storytelling and book reading session by Kathakamishu was also organised as a part of the sale which was also available on online simultaneously where people could purchase a few of the titles on the publication’s website.
