The State government has issued orders earmarking five places for immersing idols in connection with Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations in Chennai city and suburban limits.
According to a release, idol immersion would be permitted at Seenivasapuram in Pattinapakam; Kasimedu fishing harbour area; Tiruvottiyur (behind Popular Weighing Bridge); Palkalai Nagar in Neelankarai; and Ramakrishna Nagar beach in Ennore.
