An FIR has been registered against an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer at the Vadapalani All Women’s Police Station on Thursday for reportedly promising to marry a woman and cheating her later.

The FIR has been registered against G. Sathyamoorthy (34), Divisonal Forest Officer, Mullaiagam Forest Campus in Puducherry, under various charges.

The complainant, a 25-year old law student, claimed that she got acquainted with him through Facebook in January 2015.

She said he took money from her and also had a physical relationship with her. However, since the forest officer is getting married on Sunday, she approached the police.
