The Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce on Saturday has announced that it will not participate in the strike called by the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) on May 30 to put pressure on the State government to increase ticket prices and take action against piracy.

In a statement, Chennai-based distributor, Abirami Ramanathan, said, “When we met Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, he immediately called the officers concerned and directed them to look into the matter. Hence, we have decided not to participate in the strike,” he said.

The decision was taken at the executive council meet of the TFCC, comprising actor Sarathkumar, Abirami Ramanathan, producer Kalaipuli. S. Thanu, director Cheran, Radharavi, S.Ve. Shekher, J.K. Ritheesh and others.
