The father of the 7-year-old girl who was raped and murdered by a neighbour in Mugalivakkam in February, has lodged a complaint with the Chengalpattu town police station stating that the suspect in the case had threatened to kill his son too.
The trial for the case has been going on in the Chengappettu Mahila Court and Daswanth is being tried for the offence. The case came up for hearing and the girl’s father Babu and Daswanth were standing in the verandah. Mr. Babu claimed that Daswanth came near him under the pretext of speaking on the phone and threatened to kill him and his son if he ever came to the court again.
After the hearing too, when Mr. Babu was at the parking area, Daswanth had approached him on a bike with registration number TN 10 AU 8507, wearing a helmet, and had warned to him to go back to Andhra Pradesh or he would kill the child.
Babu and his family had shifted to Andhra allegedly after Daswanth’s family had threatened him.
A CSR has been registered. “We called Daswanth for investigation on Tuesday and he denied it. Further investigation is on,” said a police officer attached to the Chengalpattu police station.
