Fans of actor Vijay created a ruckus by staging a demonstration outside a theatre in Chromepet on Monday morning.

Actor Vijay's film ‘Kaavalan' was released in a few theatres in the southern suburbs of Chennai, including Vetri complex, on Pongal Day.

In addition to this, ‘Aadukalam' starring Dhanush and ‘Ilaignan' whose script has been penned by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi were also released the same day.

On Sunday evening, fans of actor Vijay noticed several posters of ‘Kaavalan' torn. The angry fans complained at Chromepet police station. However no case was registered.

On Monday morning, more than 100 fans of the actor assembled outside the theatre. They charged that posters of the film were deliberately damaged by miscreants and raised slogans.

A large number of policemen were deployed at the spot in the morning and prevented the angry fans from spilling on the road. Later in the day, the fans left the spot.
