The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling- 2014 will be held on 4 and 5 April between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam.

For school and college students looking for career guidance, The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling- 2014, is bringing under one roof educational institutions and eminent speakers covering disciplines as diverse as aviation, management and animation.

The fair, which is targeted at class IX to XII students as well as college students and graduates looking to study further, will feature pre-counselling guidance programmes for professional courses and employability seminars and stalls.

The first day of the fair will see speakers such as Venkatesh Ramachandran, MD and consulting psychiatrist, PsyMed, talk on a career in medicine, David Koilpillai and Ashok Jhunjhunwala, professors from IIT-Madras, speak on ‘The new IITs and what they bring to the students’ and ‘Innovation in engineering’, and career consultant and analyst Jayaprakash Gandhi on a career in engineering.

The second day will include talks on aspects such as film studies and cinema, the admission conundrum, mobile application development and entrepreneurship, and sports management among others. It will feature speakers such as Uma Vangal, head-media and entertainment, LV Prasad Film and TV Academy, Anand A. Samuel, pro-vice-chancellor, VIT University, S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, dean-planning and development, SASTRA University, and Renuka Rajaratnam, director, ICMR, Stella Maris College among others.

The fair will be held on 4 and 5 April between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. Entry is free.
