Excellence award for Priyadarsini Govind

The Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME) presented the Vocational Excellence Award 2018 to danseuse Priyadarsini Govind at a function held on Wednesday.

The award was presented in association with Saraswathi Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School. It recognised her contributions to Bharatanatyam and her initiatives to help children from schools run by the Chennai Corporation learn the art form.

The award was presented by danseuse Padma Subrahmanyam. Lauding Ms.Govind for her exemplary contributions to the art, Ms. Subrahmanyam said she had implemented innovative ideas during her tenure as director of Kalakshetra.

K.S.Natarajan, principal, Saraswathi Vidyalaya and B.S.Purushotham, president, RCME, were present.
