The Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF) has invited entries for the Tamil feature film competition, as part of the 11th Chennai International Film Festival.

Addressing a press conference in the city on Wednesday, festival director E. Thangaraj said the last date for receipt of entry forms is November 15.

Entries will be accepted from Tamil feature film producers for the film festival which will be held from December 12-19.

Films that have been censored between October 16, 2012 and October 15, 2013 are eligible for the competition.

Participants can collect entry forms from Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation Office, No. 4, 2nd Floor, E-Block, Gemini Parsn Apartments, Cathedral Garden Road, Chennai-600006 (Tel: 044-6516 3866, mobile: 98401 -51956, email: thanga- raj_icaf@hotmail.com.)

The participants should also submit two English-subtitled DVDs of the film.

“As many as 150 feature films from 55 countries have already been identified for screening at the festival. Eight theatres in Chennai have confirmed so far. This year, each theatre will screen only four shows per day. Last year, we screened five shows,” said Mr. Thangaraj.

“The inaugural function is expected to be held on the premises of Lady Andal School on Harrington Road,” he said.

ICAF, a registered film society, has been working for the promotion of cinema in Chennai and has around 500 members, including film directors, cinematographers and technicians.

ICAF started organising the film festival in 2003. “The competition is aimed at encouraging Tamil feature film makers,” said Mr. Thangaraj.
