Endoscopy cancer unit launched

The MedIndia Institute of Medical Specialities (MIMS) launched its endoscopy Cancer Unit here on Sunday.

Inaugurating the equipments for the early detection of digestive cancer Mayil Vahanan Natarajan, vice-chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University said, in health, everyone should have access to the latest and best technology irrespective of the economic status.

The therapeutic facility consists of three new equipments namely Endo Ultra Sonography, Single balloon enteroscopy, and High definition endoscopy system.

A public health exhibition, free blood tests for detection of Hepatitis B virus and a medical consultation camp was held for the first 1,000 participants.

T.S. Chandrasekar, founder chairman, MIMS, and M. Ahmed Ali, medical advisor, MIMS, also spoke.
