Empowerment programme for employees held

RIPE Softskills Training Academy, Nanganallur, recently conducted an empowerment programme — Vetri Vasal — for the employees of Leather Crafts India Limited. Around 200 employees participated in the event, in which specific emphasis was given to women empowerment. The participants were divided into eight teams of 25 each. The first event of the programme commenced with a spiritual discourse by S. Ramkumar, DM, Canara Bank, followed by a Sarva Dharma bhajan by ‘Tattvamasi’ bhajan group. Musion-Aathmasangamam troupe performed a light music programme. The second day started with a yoga programme, in which Dr. Lakshmi briefed the participants about small and basic yoga techniques and breathing exercises. A series of group activities, which are aimed at building team synergy, followed. The participants displayed their talents on chart sheets. Various social concepts were brought out on charts. The participants visited the nearby beach in the afternoon, where various outdoor games on team building were conducted. A ‘Miss LCI’ contest was conducted, in which the winner was crowned based on five rounds of talent display.

In a glittering valedictory function, held that evening, trophies were awarded to the winning teams. Vijayalakshmi, Head-HR, LCI Private Limited; Lena Tamilvanan, Journalist and Media Icon; T.S. Raghavan, former Chairman, Indian Bank; Parveen Sultana, Professor, JBAS College for Women; Vijay Anand Sriram, Joint Managing Director, RIPE Softskills Training Academy; and P.J. Venkataraman, Director-F&A, RIPE Softskills Training Academy; were the dignitaries present.
