EC notice to R. Natraj, E.V.K.S. Elangovan

Acting on complaints from election agents of two independent candidates contesting in Mylapore that the AIADMK candidate has mentioned that he was an IPS officer, which was a violation of norms, the Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to R. Natraj.

The Returning Officer of Mylapore constituency gave Mr. Natraj 24 hours time to explain. “Complaints were received and the RO has issued show cause notice. It is against Section 170 of the IPC and against a High Court order,” Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said.

To Elangovan

The EC has also issued a notice to Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president E.V.K.S. Elangovan on a complaint that he made allegations against Governor K. Rosaiah in an interview telecast in a TV channel.

The complaint said that the leader had alleged that the Governor was supporting the ruling party.
