The DMK will continue to urge the Election Commission to check inducement activities by political parties, said DMK working president M.K. Stalin.

Speaking to reporters at the Chennai Airport on Saturday, Mr. Stalin said the Election Commission had already taken action against officials following complaints relating to the conduct of election machinery. “We lodged a complaint against officials who supported inducements by political parties. The Election Commission has accepted it, ordering the transfer of such officials,” said Mr. Stalin.

According to the press release, Mr. Stalin was returning from New Delhi after participating in the protest by farmers from the State.

“Farmers have been protesting for the past 19 days. But the Central and State governments have failed to take action. The Chief Minister has also not shown any concern for the farmers. The DMK will take initiatives to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue,” said Mr. Stalin.
