Didn’t guarantee any loan repayment, says Rajini

Actor Rajinikanth has said he never guaranteed repayment of any loan taken by Kasthuriraja, farther of his son-in-law Dhanush, nor did he authorise him to use his name for money transactions.

He was responding to an application in a civil suit by a financier, Mukandchand Bothra, who alleged that Kasthuriraja had obtained Rs.65 lakh from him, promising that even if he failed to repay the sum, Mr.Rajinikanth would. Mr.Bothra said that when he presented the cheques for encashment, they were returned. Mr.Kasthuriraja did not honour his commitment. The actor also did not take action against him.

Mr.Rajinikanth said he did not know Mr.Bothra. There was no averment whatsoever whether the financier was in any way involved in the production of the film. He was in no way connected with the transaction between Mr.Kasthuriraja and Mr.Bothra.

Justice R.Subbiah on Monday adjourned the matter to March 25.
