Developers face the music at CREDAI

March 30, 2013 01:56 am | Updated 01:56 am IST - CHENNAI:

Four developers who failed to sign the code of conduct were excluded from the list of members of the Confederation of Real Estate Developer’s Association (CREDAI), said T. Chitty Babu, secretary, CREDAI National.

Speaking at the launch of the CREDAI-Tamil Nadu, their state apex body, he said, “Till today, we don’t have members who have not signed our code of conduct. The four who refused to sign it were removed from the list of members.”

He said the initiative of signing the code of conduct started by the Tamil Nadu chapter has been taken up at the national level and was being enforced in every state.

For the term 2013-15, Tamil Nadu chapter’s office bearers had been inducted, with R. Kumar being the chairman and N. Nandakumar, the president.

Mr. Nandakumar said the results of the efforts of CREDAI have been witnessed at the national level as well.

“Our recent accomplishment is the acceptance of the single window policy by the central government. The initiatives of CREDAI will lead to the construction of better homes at an affordable price. Usually people think that it is the builder who speculates on the price and also, on purpose, withholds the stock. But that is not case at all,” he said.
