Debate on demonetisation tomorrow

Economist S. Subramanian and author Rammanohar Reddy among speakers

The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy and Asian College of Journalism will organise a public discussion on ‘Demonetisation and Black Money’ at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Kasturi Srinivasan Hall, The Music Academy.

A panel of experts comprising S. Subramanian, economist and former National Fellow, Indian Council for Social Sciences Research; Raghavan Srinivasan, Editor, The Hindu BusinessLine; and Rammanohar Reddy, author, Demonetisation and Black Money and advisor, The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy, will provide insights on the issues arising out of Centre’s decision to demonetise currency notes of ₹500 and ₹1,000 denomination on November 8, 2016.

The discussion will be moderated by Sashi Kumar, chairman, Media Development Foundation, and be followed by an interaction with the audience.

The aim of The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy is to promote research, dialogue and discussion to create informed public opinion on key issues facing India; to safeguard, strengthen and nourish parliamentary democracy and pluralism; and to contribute to the nation’s economic, social and political betterment.
