September 14, 2013 06:00 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:15 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Students of DD Medical College, Tiruvallur, went on a fast on Friday on the campus of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Around 55 students of the college have been protesting on the University campus for the last 24 days, seeking the State government’s intervention to continue their medical education after the Medical Council of India derecognised the college in 2011.

“We are staying on the campus despite the rains. But we are yet to get a solution from the authorities,” said one of the students. Some of the students’ parents have also been participating in the protest.
