More than 90 per cent of the crop loan target fixed for the current financial year has been achieved by co-operative banks in the State.
According to an official release, Ko.Si.Mani, Minister for Co-operation, conducted a review meeting of his department at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He was informed that Rs.2,437 crore had been disbursed as against the crop loan target of Rs.2,500 crore by the co-operative banks.
Issues that came up for review included implementation of budgetary announcements, distribution of fertilizer, functioning of primary agricultural co-operative banks, interest incentives for non-farm loans etc.
Those who took part included Swaran Singh, Principal Secretary, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection, and Jatindra Nath Swain, Registrar of Co-operative societies.
