Cops arrest 12 as gangsters go on revenge spree

A plot for revenge killing was foiled in Vyasarpadi in north Chennai on Friday.

A special police team arrested 12 persons in connection with the murder of two gangsters last week in Vyasarpadi.

Murali (29) and Pushpatharan (32) were arrested for their alleged involvement in the death of Kamesh, a notorious gangster who was murdered by a six-member team led by ‘Bokka’ Ravi Kumar last week.

Kalaiarasan (22), Meghanathan (25), Thirumurugan (24), Prasanth (19) and Manimaran (24), associated with ‘Bokka’ Ravi Kumar, and Vijayan (23), Balaji (29), Saranraj (24), Vigeshwaran (20) and Manothraj (24) of Kamesh’s gang, were the others arrested on Friday.

The two gangs were planning a revenge act on the 16 day of remembrance for dead gangster, Kamesh.

He was killed last Saturday by ‘Bokka’ Ravi’s gang to avenge the death of the latter’s friend at the hands of Kamesh.

In an act of revenge, on Monday, Kamesh’s associates murdered a former close associate of ‘Bokka’ Ravi.
