Contraband seized, two arrested

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials recently seized 48 kg of ephedrine worth Rs. 48 lakh, which was intended to be smuggled all the way to Malaysia.

Two persons were arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt.

According to an official press release, an NCB team intercepted Sathik Raja (25) and Shaik Usman (32), both hailing from Triplicane here, at the Koymabedu omnibus terminus and found them in possession of the contraband.

Following the two person's confession, the team also found ephedrine at a travel agency's godown in Chintadripet.
