Sukesh Chandrasekhar, arrested in connection with various cheating cases in July, was booked under the Goondas Act on Wednesday.
According to a press release, on May 6, Chakravarthy of Skylark Textiles Private Limited lodged a complaint that Sukesh had cheated him of Rs. 74 lakh.
Sukesh also pretended to be Jayakumar, secretary of Karnataka State development project, and cheated Jagadeesan, manager of Canara Bank in Ambattur, and Balasubramaniyam and Chitra Balasubramaniyam of Rs. 19 crore.
The three fell for Sukesh’s tall claims and deposited money in various Mumbai-based banks.
Actor Leena Maria Paul, Sukesh’s girlfriend, was arrested in Delhi in connection with the case on May 28.
Sukesh was arrested on July 8 and remanded to judicial custody.
Over 15 cases are registered against him in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. On the orders of commissioner S. George in Chennai, Sukesh was booked under the Goondas Act.
