The commercial taxes department has started an awareness campaign for traders to promote online services for payment, annual returns and transit passes.
“The awareness among traders on the recent amendments is poor. The campaign will help dealers make optimum use of the new provisions in amendments such as reversal of ITC (Input Tax Credit) on stock transfer and reversal of ITC on CST (Central Sales Tax) sales,” said an official.
Under e-payment mode, any trader can login and make a request. This mode of payment, currently available with nine banks, will offer an additional time of two days for traders.
Traders will also be able to generate their own transit pass online and submit at the last check post. This will facilitate easier inter-state sale or transfer of stocks. Annual returns of traders will be permitted only on electronic mode by the department.
