Comedian Chitty Babu passes away

Comedian and television show presenter Chitty Babu, who emerged into the limelight as a co-host of popular show ‘Comedy Time,’ died on Friday at Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) after a prolonged illness.

According to sources, Chitty Babu (49) was admitted to a private hospital on Monday after he fainted. His condition did not improve and he had slipped into a coma three days ago. He was shifted to GRH, where he was declared dead around 3 p.m. on Friday.

Chitty Babu is also remembered for his comic roles in blockbuster films Dhool , Boys , Sivakasi and Dasavatharam . He had played small roles in over 50 feature films even though he is best remembered for this role as a television presenter.
