Comedian and television show presenter Chitty Babu, who emerged into the limelight as a co-host of popular show ‘Comedy Time,’ died on Friday at Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) after a prolonged illness.
According to sources, Chitty Babu (49) was admitted to a private hospital on Monday after he fainted. His condition did not improve and he had slipped into a coma three days ago. He was shifted to GRH, where he was declared dead around 3 p.m. on Friday.
Chitty Babu is also remembered for his comic roles in blockbuster films Dhool, Boys, Sivakasi and Dasavatharam. He had played small roles in over 50 feature films even though he is best remembered for this role as a television presenter.
