August 03, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - CHENNAI:

Two groups of college students clashed inside an MTC bus on Mount Road, on Tuesday.

The police said, a group of boys had boarded the Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar-bound 38 C bus from Vivekananda House.

As the bus reached Simpsons bus stop, the boys began booing at another group of students who were waiting at the stop.

The other group then started pelting stones at the bus and broke a part of the windshield. Soon, a clash between the two groups ensued on the main road, while the rest of the passengers stepped out of the bus.

A few onlookers said that some of the students attacked each other with sharp weapons.

However, by the time the police had arrived, all the boys had reportedly escaped. “We are trying to locate them,” said a police officer attached to the Chintadripet Police Station.
