Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) on Friday sealed a building on Medavakkam Main Road in Madipakkam for violations.
According to a release, the developer had obtained planning permission from the Pallavaram Municipality on March 6, 2009, for constructing “stilt floor (parking) plus ground floor (part) plus first and second floor (part).”
The proposed bank-cum-residential complex on about two grounds of land had three floors more than what was permitted.
A notice pasted by CMDA officials on the structure said that the building was subject to “enforcement as per Section 56 (2A) of Town and Country Planning Act, 1971.”
Consequent to the notice issued on May 11, 2010, the developer had submitted planning permission application for regularisation of the building and it was refused by the CMDA on July 21, 2010.
