CM to inaugurate Cenotaph road flyover next month

The construction of much-awaited flyover on the busy Turnbulls Road-Cenotaph Road stretch in the city was expected to be completed soon and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would inaugurate the new facility next month, Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin said on Thursday.

Mr. Stalin reviewed construction works on the Rs 19 crore project and told reporters that Karunanidhi will inaugurate the flyover by October end.

The 458 metre long facility was being constructed at a height of nearly six metres from the ground and on 12 pillars erected for the purpose, he said adding Rs 10 crore had been given as compensation towards land acquisition for the purpose.

Other projects including a bridge across the Adyar river and a road under bridge at Saidapet would be completed by next month, he said adding government had accorded permission for the construction of a flyover at a cost of Rs 61 crore at Vyasarapadi here.
