Students who took the Class XII CBSE board examinations across the city on Thursday said the English core paper was easy, albeit lengthy.

“It was a paper along the expected lines but was extremely lengthy. Though we were able to complete it, most of the students were writing till the last minute. This left us no time to check our answers,” said R. Shreetha.

Challenging section

Most of the students, however, said that they had expected a lengthy paper as the revision and pre-board examination papers were lengthy too. Smriti Sahaana, another student, said the options in Section B — Writing — were slightly challenging.

The Class X students too began their board examinations with 14 optional and compulsory subject papers, on Thursday. This will be the last year when students will take up the school conducted final examinations in Class X instead of the board exams. The school-conducted exams are scheduled to begin on March 15.
