A criminal complaint filed against actor Rajnikant’s wife and daughter by a financier for a dishonoured cheque in a court here, was today withdrawn after both sides agreed for a out of the court compromise.

The complaint was filed in 2009 by R Sumerchand Bafna of Swastic Finance Corporation alleging that cheques given by Ms. Lata and Ms. Soundarya Rajnikant toward repayment of Rs 20 lakh borrowed by Ocher Studios for Tamil film “Goa” were dishonoured.

23rd Metropolitan Magistrate Court had ordered summons to Ms. Lata and Ms. Soundarya to appear before it today. But as the two did not appear, Magistrate K Ravi issued a bailable warrant against them.

However in the afternoon, the complainant filed an application stating that the case would be settled out of court, following which the court dismissed the complaint as withdrawn.
