Chennai: View from the top

Some of the best views of the city are undoubtedly from above. When photographer R. Ragu was flying back into the city from Pune on a calm afternoon, a sky devoid of cloud cover prompted him to pull out his Nikon D4 and shoot some pictures. And look at what he got! Is this a multi-hued Lego land? Or a city bursting at its seams? Or a place whose size and scale don’t match our imagination? Amazing panoramic shots of the densely populated North Madras, bustling Guindy, stately Raj Bhavan and the charming MRC Nagar fill his frames. The pictures offer a dramatic contrast between blurred elements and sharp details, straight shots and unusual angles. Take this aerial tour that makes the familiar oh-so-fascinating...

Lovely pictures no doubt, but considering the fact that he was in an aircraft that looks like it was about to land, should he not have turned off "all electronic devices" including his camera as instructed by the crew ?
