Adhi Narayanan
A nefarious sky Adhi Narayanan Balasubramanian shot these clouds in Madipakkam last week as the city bore the brunt of the onset of the monsoons. Rahul Ravindran
Reflections Bengaluru-based IT professional Rahul Ravindran makes it a point to visit home (Chennai) over most weekends. And when it rains, a trip to Marina Beach is inevitable. The water-logged beach is where he says one can capture a myriad of human emotions as people congregate there to make the most of the rains. “This solitary guy sitting on an otherwise empty carousel caught my attention. And the reflection in the water simply added to the effect,” he says.

All packed up This was shot by Aswin Saravanan, a system engineer on a photowalk to Kasimedu. “When we set out it was clear skies, but by the time we got there the rains had lent the place a lovely washed out glow. As we walked around we came across these fishermen who were getting set to sail for their next fishing expedition armed with ice blocks to keep their catch fresh. The sky provided a great backdrop.”

Chirag Mohanty
Business as usual Chirag Mohanty came across this vendor going about business as usual on one of his daily commutes from Porur to Ennore. “It had started raining heavily while I was enroute and happened to see this man riding his heavily laden two wheeler through the downpour. The fact that he had to carry on with work regardless of the rain made me stop for a quick picture.”

Amar Ramesh
Down to earth A shot with pigeons is a must for most people at Marina Beach. But for professional photographer Amar Ramesh, it had to be something different. “This time, I decided to get a shot from their level. So I placed the phone on the ground where the grains were and shot this. The rain-washed surroundings lend it a surreal feel and makes for an interesting view.”
