On Saturday, a number of residents from various parts of the city thronged A.S.Mansion in Sowrashtra Nagar, Choolaimedu.

Ramkumar, who is suspected to have murdered techie Swathi and apprehended on Friday night, had reportedly been staying in the mansion for the past three months.

Sathish Raja, who has been a resident of the area for the past four years, said the police cordoned off the area at 2 a.m. on Saturday.

"Police permitted us to leave the mansion only at 8.30 a.m.," said Mr.Raja.

The suspect stayed in room number 404 on the second floor of A.S.Mansion. The police have taken the manager of the mansion and a 50-year-old roommate of Ramkumar for enquiry.

Some clothing of the suspect has reportedly been recovered from room number 404.

A.S.Mansion watchman Gopal refused to talk to mediapersons as senior police officials had asked him not to talk to the media. Mr. Gopal is said to be one of the persons who had seen Ramkumar.

The police had analysed the footage of CCTV at the entrance of the mansion. Images of the suspect have reportedly been captured in the CCTV footage.
