Chennai students back from Kathmandu

A total of 33 women students of the Mar Gregorias College returned to Chennai by an Air India flight from Kathmandu via Delhi and reached the city around 11 p.m. on Monday.

The body of Florence Angel was also flown in by the same flight. Minister for Higher Education P. Palaniappan along with a special representative of the State government in the rank of a Cabinet minister were present when the group landed.

According to sources, one of the students, Ajisha, who sustained multiple fractures, was sent along with her family by a special ambulance to Vijaya Health Centre in Vadapalani. The ambulance included a senior doctor and an anaesthetist.

The Minister paid his last respects to the body of Florence Angel before it was handed over to the family. One girl is still reported missing. The principal and the correspondent of the college were also present at the airport.
