Chennai parents stage protest

November 24, 2013 01:44 am | Updated 01:44 am IST - CHENNAI:

Parents of children enrolled in A School protested on Saturday, alleging the school, which had recently decided to close operations at some of its branches, was not doing enough to accommodate their children in other schools, as was promised.

“They gave us a list of 12 schools. But most of them are in the suburbs, and none of them is reputed,” said Chandru, one of the parents. “We were told the government’s new fee structure or license issues could be the reasons for the school’s decision to suspend all classes except kindergarten. They should at least return the money we paid during admission,” another parent said.

The parents said school officials later promised to provide them with another list of schools. School authorities said they were trying their best to accommodate the students.
