Chennai lecturer killed in accident

A 24-year-old lecturer died when a private college bus knocked down the scooter she was riding pillion on in Perumbakkam Main Road on Thursday. Faizanitha Begum, a resident of Nookkampalayam, who taught at a private college in Sholinganallur, was on her way to work on a scooter driven by her friend.

At Perumbakkam intersection, the bus hit the scooter. Ms. Begum fell, sustained critical head injuries and died on the spot. The bus driver fled. A search is on for him.
