The Serbian film festival, jointly organised by Indo-Cine appreciation Forum and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia, was inaugurated at the Russian Center of Science and Culture on Monday by Mr. C.V. Karthik Narayanan, Honorary Consul Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, Chennai.

Inaugurating the film festival that runs for four days starting from September 8, Mr. Karthik Narayanan said that Serbian filmmakers are getting noticed around the world.

"Serbia is a cosmopolitan country. Just like India, Serbia also produces many films, reflecting the country's cosmopolitan character," he said.

Six films have been selected from a total of 12 films, said E. Thangaraj, General Seceratary, ICAF.

On the first day, filmmaker Dragan Bjelogrlic's Montevideo Taste of a Dream was screened after the inauguration.

The films will be screened in the evenings over a period of four days. The last two days (Sept 10 and 11) will feature two movies, one starting at around 6 p.m. and another at 7.30 p.m.
