Former deputy Chief Minister and sitting MLA of Kolathur, M.K. Stalin, on Monday launched a helpline for residents of the constituency to register complaints regarding civic amenities and other issues.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘reach your MLA scheme’ that includes the helpline (7810878108), Mr. Stalin said a team would look at the complaints and try to work out solutions.

“My visit to the office in Kolathur two to three times a week is not enough to remedy the existing challenges faced by people. We have been trying out best to improve conditions in the constituency by communicating with the departments concerned. The new helpline will help residents who have no time to visit the MLA office,” he said.

The new system would speed up the process of redressing grievances of residents, he added. “I have been speaking to officials concerned to solve civic issues. I have also been monitoring the progress of the works,” said Mr. Stalin.

Those who call the helpline will receive a registration number. The workers will inform the residents of the progress of the work periodic basis.

Residents of the constituency will also be able to talk to Mr. Stalin regarding pressing issues. In addition to complaints, the helpline will also take suggestions and opinions of residents on various issues.

The system will be integrated on WhatsApp shortly. Residents can also visit www.mkstalin.in to register complaints, suggestions and opinions on policy decisions.
