Sneha gets 50 calls

May 24, 2014 03:53 am | Updated November 17, 2021 04:52 am IST - CHENNAI:

About 50 anxious students called Sneha, a suicide prevention centre in the city, on Friday, after the class X results were declared.

“The pressure in class X is not as bad as it is in class XII and the students’ main concern was whether they can get into their desired stream in class XI,” said Lakshmi Vijayakumar, founder of the centre.

Dissatisfaction with their score was another reason for the calls, especially from students who were expecting much more, Dr. Vijayakumar said.

For those in need of emotional support, free confidential services are offered at Sneha on: 044-24640050, 24640060. For a walk-in visit, go to: 11, Park View Road, R.A. Puram, Chennai – 600028. And to email, contact: help@snehaindia.org
