ITC Grand Chola was awarded the ‘Best Business Hotel’ at the third Annual Lonely Planet Magazine Travel Awards 2014.

The ceremony was held in Mumbai on June 11, according to a press release. The winner was selected through an online readers’ poll conducted by the magazine.

The awards recognise the best travel experiences, service providers, the preferred places to stay and the destinations Indians most love to visit.

The hotel, opened in late 2012, is accredited as the world’s largest LEED Platinum-certified luxury hotel, and has also been recognised by Conde Nast Traveller as the best leisure hotel.

Ranvir Bhandari, vice president (south) and general manager received the award on behalf of the hotel. “What we’re most proud of is to be chosen through an independent poll, by the readers themselves,” said Mr. Bhandari.
