Forest officials of Kancheepuram district, on Sunday, relocated four cameras in Vandalur reserved forests, where a leopard was reported to have been spotted on Friday.
The move is expected to increase the possibility of sighting the wild animal.
Officials said the camera traps were set up near the waterhole inside the reserve forests. When the data was checked for possible animal movement, the footage did not show up any animals.
Following this, they shifted the location and fixed the camera nearly 300 metres away from the waterhole, where possibility of the animal movement was high.
The authorities also posted a team on the spot where leopard sighting was reported. The team included dorest range officer, foresters, guards and watchers.
A senior officer said the team stayed overnight in the area. The team would continue their halt in the area on Sunday night too, they said.
