Can I improve skin tone with a homemade product? Recommend foods for glowing skin? — Divya
Rose water is a natural toner. Store some rose water in the refrigerator. After cleansing your face, apply the rose water, using cotton wool pads. Then pat the skin briskly with the pads. Use a facial scrub twice a week. After consulting your doctor, exercise every day. It will make your skin glow as it improves blood circulation. Include fresh fruits, salads, sprouts and curd in your diet. Drink plenty of water. Add the juice of a lemon to a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.
I use shikakai. After using it, my hair becomes dry and looks thin. What should I do to avoid this? — Brinda
Use a mild herbal shampoo. To avoid dryness, apply oil the night before a shampoo wash. After shampooing your hair, massage it with a little leave-in conditioner or hair serum. Diet is important. Eat a small bowl of sprouts daily and include fresh fruits, salads, leafy green vegetables, soya bean and curd in your diet. Ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin and mineral supplements. Applying curd or egg before a shampoo wash helps to add body to the hair and makes the hair appear thicker.
