Traffic flow was briefly interrupted on Muthusamy Salai near Fort station, when construction material flowed out of the Metro Rail construction site there, on Saturday.
As the soil in the area was loose, the construction material foam flowed out of the site when the tunnel boring machine was near Muthusamy Salai. The machine was drilling from Madras High Court to Chennai Central. The area was subsequently cleaned up by workers.
A similar incident took place on railway tracks near Fort suburban railway station in August.
