The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) – Chennai is set to maintain six city roads including Boat Club Road, South Usman Road and Dr. Nair Road.

This will be done on behalf of the Chennai Corporation as a part of CREDAI’S corporate social responsibility activities.

The Chennai Corporation Council is likely to pass a resolution on Thursday permitting CREADAI to carry out conservancy operations and maintenance of the roads. Conservancy labourers will work in shifts to clean the roads, increasing the number of cycles of conservancy operations based on periodic assessments.

“We will take measures to prevent damage to the roads. We will also wash the roads. The roads include Tank Bund Road, Conran Smith Road, Kavignar Bharathidasan Salai,” said a spokesperson of CREDAI.

Last year, the Corporation Council passed a resolution permitting CREDAI to carry out conservancy operation and maintenance of a number of roads, including EVK Sampath Salai, Jothi Venkatachalam Salai, Vepery High Road, Raja Muthiah Road, Gandhi Irwin Road, Purasawalkam High Road, Gangadeeswarar Koil Street, Raja Annamalai Road, Narayana Guru Salai, Police Commissioner Office Road, Pantheon Road and Whannels Road. However, work on most of the roads did not take off owing to delay in completion of footpaths and street furniture.
