Workshop on photo journalism

A 3-day workshop on journalism was conducted at D. G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam on Feb 4, 5 and 6. .About 200 students of II and III year Visual communication participated in the event. Subject area experts offered guidance and talked about nuances of photographic journalism.

“Photo is the unbiased content of reality which reveals different perspectives to the situation and is a narrative by itself. Our students have learnt a lot from this workshop. We are grateful to the narrator” said Mrs. Vasanth, Head of Visual Communication Department.

The work shop dealt with ethics of photo journalism, presentation of photos on a timely and relevant issues need to update the continual advances in camera technology, characteristics of photo journalism, clarity and completeness and responsibility of a photo journalist. One day training was given on handling sophisticated equipments.
