As a part of the World Disability Day (on December 3), Manickam Valliammal Educational & Charitable Trust, is organising a week-long event for all children with special needs (children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders / Autism, ADHD, learning disability and for children with cerebral palsy), in the age group of four to 15.
According to the audiologist and speech therapist, Akila Palani, there will be a free screening camp for speech, hearing and learning problems today. On December 3, there will be a competition for children (drawing, painting, singing and story telling / sequencing story). On December 7, Sports Day and prize distribution for all events will be held. On December 8, there will be an orientation programme for pre-school and school teachers on ‘Creating awareness on Autism and strategies to handle special needs children in mainstream school.’ The venue is 146, HIG Phase II, Nolambur, Mogappair West Garden Road, Mogappair West.
