Union Minister of State for Defence visits training academy in St. Thomas Mount

Union Minister of State for Defence Jitendra Singh visited Officers Training Academy in St. Thomas Mount recently. Interacting with the trainee Lady and Gentlemen Cadets, he said the Ministry was always in favour of a greater role for women in the Armed forces, including increasing their intake. During his first visit to the premier training academy after taking over as Union Minister of State for Defence, the Minister said such institutions were doing an excellent job in training skilled young men and women and making them as fine young Army officers. He was visiting as many training and other establishments as possible ever since he was made Minister of State for Defence. He was welcomed by Lieutenant General S.S.Jog, Commandant of the Academy.
